MOLD INSPECTION & INDOOR AIR QUALITY

NorthStar Environmental Testing has a team of qualified industrial hygienists experienced in performing full mold inspections including the determination of potential sources for moisture intrusion, assessment of indoor humidity and surface moisture levels, air/surface sampling to determine the types of mold spores and quantities, and development of a remediation plan if necessary. NorthStar conducts mold inspections throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest.

MOLD

Mold can be found almost anywhere; it can grow on virtually any porous substance, as long as moisture and oxygen are present. There are molds that can grow on wood, paper, carpet, foods, and insulation. When excessive moisture accumulates in buildings or on building materials, unwanted mold growth will often occur, particularly if the moisture problem remains undiscovered or unaddressed. Mold is an allergen for people and Mold can consume building materials. A Mold Inspection can help you to identify which molds may be present and if concentrations are harmful to your health or your building.

INDOOR AIR QUALITY

Other than Lead, Asbestos & Mold, various other contaminants such as Dust, Bacteria, Carbon Monoxide, Ozone, Formaldehyde, Radon and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) may invade indoor environments and cause health concerns for building occupants. Unfortunately, the ever increasing focus on energy efficiency has led to an increase in indoor air quality concerns by trapping more contaminants. Smoke, dust and other emissions from mechanical equipment, office supplies, cleaning products, etc. can invade your home or workplace causing potentially serious health effects and lost productivity. NorthStar is experienced in investigating indoor air pollutants as well as factors contributing to elevated concentrations.
